Betty White was born in Oak Park, Illinois and moved to Los Angeles with her parents when she was only a toddler. She later graduated from Beverly Hills High School.
She first started out in radio in which lead to television. Her first big run was with someone call A1 Jarvis which was on a local Television show which was on half the day over six days a week. Only after two years being on the show she inherited it took the main role.
Soon after this she formed her own production company and produced her first comedy series Life With Elizabeth. Also coming up with a daily NBC talk show. After appearing on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in its fourth season led Betty White to becoming a permanent cast member. As doing this she earned two Emmy's for supporting actress.
After several years of making people laugh and enjoy evenings Betty also found herself in several movies like Lake Placid. She is also author of four books called Betty White's Pet Love; Betty White In Person, and Here We Go Again: My life in Television.
With all of this she also was the President Emeritus of Morris Animal Foundation, and has been a trustee since 1971. She has received many awards for helping animals and is now serving as vice president of the Los Angeles Zoo Commission.
